The heart of our festival is our volunteers! We require a large base of volunteers in order to make the Festival run smoothly and successfully. Your participation helps provide a memorable and beneficial educational experience to our student participants.

There are a large number of positions and shifts available. Please note that no prior music experience is required. Many of the jobs are relatively easy.

The Alberta International Band Festival has a volunteer program in place that enables individuals to contribute to the success of Alberta’s junior high, high school, and community group musicians as they develop and showcase their performance skills.

Those interested in assisting with the daily operation of the Festival at the Concert Band Venue (Fringe Arts Barn) may choose either a morning (8:30 AM to 1:00 PM) or an afternoon shift (12:45 PM - 5:15 PM), during which you’ll have the opportunity to hear great music in a beautiful venue, enjoy the company of other music loving volunteers, and cheer on young musicians from Alberta and beyond.

Those interested in assisting with the daily operation of the Festival at the Jazz Band Venue (Old Strathcona Performing Arts Centre) may choose either a morning (8:30 AM to 12:30 PM) or an afternoon shift (12:15 PM - 5:15 PM), during which you’ll have the opportunity to hear great music in a beautiful venue, enjoy the company of other music loving volunteers, and cheer on young musicians from Alberta and beyond.

The success of the festival relies on volunteers like yourself. We encourage you to help out when you can, and possibly even talk a friend or relative into joining you. The more the merrier!
